In the first phase of this renovation project, six new science rooms were added. The administrative and guidance suite was completely redone with all new offices and conference rooms. A new gymnasium was added.
The renovation included new electricity, a new HVAC system, new paint, ceiling tiles, lights, and floor tile. The media center was completely gutted, renovated, and enclosed. The total area renovated was 159,000 square feet.
Eric Bond, assistant superintendent for operations and maintenance, says, “Nielsen has been very cooperative and responsive to our requirements and needs. The renovations occurred while the students were in the building. Dave Nobles was the superintendent for Wilson. He was like part of the faculty. He worked with the principal and teachers, and made sure they weren’t interrupting the daily operations of the school. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the project.”
