The new Warren County Public Safety Building in Front Royal, VA will house the Sheriff’s Office and Emergency 911 Communications Center, Fire and Rescue services, as well as the County’s Information Technology facilities. The 44,000 square foot building sits on one level, and will provide state of the art facilities to help Warren County better meet the needs of the community it serves. Included in the project design by Moseley Architects are spaces for forensics, computer forensics, evidence storage, emergency communications personnel office space, vehicle evidence processing, physical training and locker rooms.

The structure is mostly steel bearing, with some areas bearing on masonry. A combination of flat rubber roofs and sloped metal roofs will provide dimension to the building. Louver screens embedded into the metal roof offer a unique way to hide mechanical equipment. To provide continuity, the brick will match Skyline High School across the street. However, field stone and precast concrete accents will differentiate the buildings from each other.

The project is seeking LEED Certification by the U. S. Green Building Council. While it cannot be determined until after the project has completed, the project team is seekding a gold rating.

This building will allow Warren County to more effectively serve the needs of it s residents in Warren County and the Front Royal area.
