With the construction of two three-story additions, Bridgewater Retirement Community has created six neighborhood settings within the healthcare wing of their facility. Each neighborhood has its own living room, dining room and kitchen space.
The additions is constructed of structural metal studs with precast plank floors. The roof structure includes wood trusses and shingles. The porte cochere has a signature metal roof similar to other canopies on campus. A combination of brick and EIFS connects the additions to adjacent buildings aesthetically. The mechanical system includes a 4 -pipe vertical heating anc cooling system tied into BRC’s central energy plant.
After completion of the additions, the current 1995 addition was demolished to make room for the new entrance and prote cochere. The final phase of construction renovates the existing healthcare wing into private rooms and other support spaces for the residents.
